Reports to: HSE Manager

Job purpose: To assist in the coordination of permitting as prescribed by the company Permit Scheme throughout the Site and for all required activities where a Permit to work applies.

Any other duties as required by the HSE Manager or Safety Officer in carrying out the coordination of works carried out by statutory undertakers and any other functions undertaken by the HSE team.

The Role:

  • Control of Permit to Work, gas testing registers, and other management registers within the control of work process.
  • Support the HSE function in the pursuit of compliance to procedures and legislation.
  • Regularly inspect work areas to ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Support the management team to maintain and improve ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 accreditation.
  • Ensure that all document control requirements for controlling work are completed in a timely manner post project.

About you

  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills with 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at grade C or above, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of COSHH, Confined Spaces and Risks from Asbestos and advantage Plus HSE guidance and relevant Acts and codes of practice which provide the framework for delivering effective Safe Working.
  • Experience of Managing work priorities coordination or working within a industrial setting or similar service background
  • Significant experience of working with IT systems including databases
  • Occasional site visits required.
