In celebration of Armistice Day on Friday 11th and Remembrance Day on Sunday 13th, we were proud to host and support a number of ceremonies up and down the UK.
In Appledore, our team joined Torridge District Council for a ceremony in Victoria Park, Bideford, as part of this ceremony Councillor Doug Bushby read a passage from Laurence Binyon’s poem, ‘For the Fallen’ with our team having the opportunity to lay a wreath.
Whilst in Belfast, we hosted our own Remembrance Ceremony. Led by Graham Couser, our General Manager, the ceremony began with a recital of the Thomas Morrison poem ‘To Their Memory’ followed by a performance from Piper, Mark Smith and wreath laying. The ceremony finished with a two-minute silence.
Over at Harland & Wolff (Arnish), our team made their way to the Lewis War Memorial in Stornoway to pay their respects and lay a wreath and in Methil, our team was delighted to attend both the Festival of Remembrance and the Remembrance Day Parade hosted by the Methil Sea & Royal Marine Cadets.
