The successful candidate will have the necessary skills and competencies to assist in ensuring that our working environment complies with health & safety and environmental legislation.

Key Tasks will be:

  • Administer the company HSE management systems including maintenance of records, action plans and statistics
  • Development of documentation including HSE alerts, forms and other HSE promoting documentation
  • Ownership and management of HSE equipment and supplies
  • Assisting in completion of risk assessments, method statements and COSHH assessments
  • Participating / leading HSE meetings
  • Participate in company drug and alcohol testing policies and procedures
  • Assisting in carrying out safety inspections of work areas, processes and procedures to ensure that these are in compliance with health, safety and environment procedures and legislation
  • Ensuring that timely corrective action is taken where areas of non-compliance are identified
  • Supporting project management by carrying out risk assessments and gas testing as necessary
  • Assisting with the safety audit
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of health, safety and environment policies and procedures
  • Assisting in the investigation of accidents/incidents and the completion of the appropriate reports

Applicants must hold a valid NEBOSH certificate and have experience working with management systems.  They must be able to communicate effectively at all levels verbally and in writing and be fully conversant with Microsoft Office. Ideally they will have experience working within an heavy engineering/maritime setting, hold a current first aid qualification and have auditing experience.
