Group Head of Risk
Job Purpose: Lead and develop H&W’s Risk Management function, managing risk, developing a risk profile, and working with internal and external stakeholders to manage risk in every aspect of our operations. This is an unprecedented opportunity to create and lead a risk function for a transforming business.
The Role:
- Developing and deploying risk management strategies (from inception to completion).
- Providing expert knowledge on heavy industry risk profiles including defence, fabrication, shipbuilding and energy sector delivery.
- Develop appropriate whole project life-cycle risk management procedures, policies and documentation and roll this out across the business.
- Stay up to date with changes to risk management accreditation obligations, whether contractual or statutory, and ensure company compliance.
- Able to effectively communicate with executive level stakeholders, including CEO and CFO.
About You:
- Experience in industrial programme delivery, ideally in one of the following sectors: defence, shipbuilding or energy (renewables, oil and gas).
- Demonstrable experience in a mid-senior risk management role.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to lead a risk function, with strong adherence to process and an eye for driving efficiencies.
- Independent, well organized and willing to pitch in when necessary.
- Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
