Harland and Wolff nears completion of Offshore Wind Farm contract

Tuesday 08 November 2005

The Offshore Wind Farm is being installed near Cumbria in the Irish Sea. As the only permanent heavy lift capacity in the Irish Sea, Harland and Wolff hopes the success of this project will lead to others.

The Sales and Marketing Manager, Mr David McVeigh, said, 'The Harland and Wolff site is perfect for the execution of such projects. With our 90 acres of hard standing site, vast lifting capacity (twin 840 tonne gantry cranes), over 30,000m2 covered fabrication halls and the largest dock in Western Europe, we feel we have the complete solution that de-risks such complex and demanding projects.'

He continued, 'Our relationship with our customer is strong, and we look forward to the successful completion of this project, and many projects to come.'
